Can you print your new address directly on the holiday cards to save handwriting time?

Yes, personalized card formats allow your new street address to be printed directly on the card so you do not have to write it out by hand dozens of times. Flat A2 cards measuring 5.5 by 4.25 inches let you customize your text alongside festive graphics, printing your family name and new location details in the displayed font. Folded 5 by 7 inch cards also offer personalized printing options that place your moving update inside the card alongside pre-printed seasonal wishes. Choosing pre-printed address options cuts repetitive handwriting down to just signing your name and addressing the envelopes.

Do holiday moving card sets include extra envelopes for addressing mistakes?

Some sets provide extra envelopes, but the exact count depends on the format you buy. Multiple boxed sets of 5 by 7 inch folded cards include 19 white envelopes for 18 cards, providing a spare envelope if you make a pen error or miswrite a zip code. Other options, including personalized sets of 10 flat cards, provide an exact match of 10 envelopes for 10 cards. If you worry about handwriting slips while working through a long recipient list, check the package contents on the product listing to confirm whether a spare envelope is included.

Will pen ink smear when writing personal notes inside moving holiday cards?

Ink smearing depends on the interior paper coating, so you should check the product description for an uncoated surface before buying. Folded holiday cards with printed messages like "Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a healthy New Year" leave open space for handwritten notes, but glossy coatings can cause gel or fountain pen ink to smudge. If the manufacturer does not specify an uncoated interior, use a standard ballpoint pen and allow the ink a few seconds to set before closing the card.

What sizes are available for combining moving announcements and Christmas cards?

The two main sizes available are compact A2 cards measuring 5.5 by 4.25 inches and traditional folded cards measuring 5 by 7 inches. Flat A2 cards present your new address and holiday greeting on a single front-facing layout, keeping the card lightweight and quick to assemble. Folded 5 by 7 inch cards provide a classic greeting card feel with themed front cover art, such as moving penguins or holiday wreaths, paired with dedicated interior space for printed holiday sentiments and handwritten notes.

Can you customize the envelopes with your new return address?

Envelope customization depends on the card set and whether it supports custom stationery printing. Certain personalized flat card sets let you choose from 19 envelope colors and offer printed return address options on colored envelopes, saving you from writing your new address on the exterior flap. Standard boxed sets typically include plain white envelopes without custom printing, which means you will need to write your return address manually or apply a pre-inked address stamp.

How can you manage holiday card mailing while settling into a new home in 2026?

Prepare your mailing supplies as soon as your move-in date is confirmed to avoid missing December postal deadlines. Combining your seasonal greeting with your change of address into one single card saves you time and cuts your postage expenses in half. While unpacking boxes and setting up simple decorations like tabletop Christmas trees, keep your cards, stamps, and pens gathered in holiday decorative storage so address lists and unsealed envelopes do not get lost in moving clutter.
